the Role of New Media and Technology in the Detection of Facts and Combating Fake News

The meeting was opened by (Mustafa Nasser) by inviting: Mohammad Rahman, a graduate from electronic technologies, who had an experience with fake news and a victim of ghost jobs.

Mohammed said that he had had an interview in which he was asked many questions "How to change the IP or secure several accounts."

He revealed that "after a period, he worked with that body that asked many people who have been employed for them, to create female fake pages of, approximately 200 fake pages run by an employee, although the Facebook policy was shutting down several pages when they know that those pages are fake or have been created from the same site (IP), stressing that "most posts were published in the form of ad.".

Mohammed indicated that "one day, he was surprised by a special post's content trying to defame one of the girls who was personally his friend, saying that during the time he worked with them, he didn't know that he was a part of a project worked on posting rumors and fake news".

He added that "he was thinking about withdrawing gradually and made several excuses until he got rid of them".

He ended up saying that: "We all make mistakes and the good thing is learning from our mistakes, but the strange thing is when someone makes mistakes and continues to commit them without learning".

He expressed his regrets to use technologies incorrectly after this experience which led him to be a warrior against such things that deal with rumors and fake news.

After the conclusion of (Mohammad Rahman) who talked about his experience, (Dana Saad - German Academy -Kurdistan) talked about the European experience with fake news.

Dana Saad begins with "the definition of fake news or misleading that they may be intentional or unintentional, saying that in Britain, there is a journal that was able to change the ways things are through publishing (fake news) that was able to cause the Party Labor great loses in Europe, and USA.

"One of the news mentioned that about 100 fans were killed, and the actual reason was for the mismanagement because the stadium wasn't expanded enough to compose that enormous number, but the news was fake said that several people were drunk and they were the reason of the death of those fans", Dana said.

He indicated that "false news has an impact on our communities, especially at the meantime, as they activate in times of crises, wars and elections."

Dana also mentioned that the most important way to fight fake news" is the consciousness of the receiver and he presented the Sweden's experience in including this topic in curriculums for school students and teaching them ways to verify fake news (survey)".

What are the awaited responsibilities to combat fake news phenomenon?

"A group of journalists of facts-finding and recognition of correct information have been trained ", Dana answered.

He stressed that "there is a necessity for people to read news from a reliable sources and official channels, not from Facebook pages that can contribute in spreading fake news widely, as they have a lot of electronic armies."

The speaker (Haider Jawad - Specialized in Visual Effects) started by talking about fake news: "The fake news maker depends on the confidence of the human, which comes from their senses, and I mean that when they are asked about the source, they say "i have not heard about it, but rather i saw it in my eyes".

Haidar also reveals that "there are a group of mechanisms for counterfeiting, and the most important one is how to damage human's trust in their senses and make them figuring out the correct news, indicating that there is a program presented within a number of series called (illusion industry), through which a number of videos are made to talk about the ways to validate the news".
