Climate Change Affects The Iraqi Economy

On the first day of the activities of the Fourth Point Iraq Conference, which was held on July 22, 2022, Mustafa Dawood, a representative of “Station” Foundation for Entrepreneurship, expressed his happiness to host the Fourth edition of Point Conference Iraq at the "Station" hall, in cooperation with Tawasul Organization for Youth Empowerment and this came from a common view to face the challenges that Iraq is going through, most notably climate change.


He mentioned that "climate change does not affect the temperature only, but even the economy."


The “Station” Foundation for Entrepreneurship aspiring to support the youth and activate the private sector to develop the Iraqi economy.


Mustafa added that the Foundation is working on developing four axes to strengthen the private sector and enable young people to develop the Iraqi economy, such as (developing the small, medium and emerging projects, developing the capabilities of young university students to enable them getting jobs in the private sector after graduation, working with young artists and transforming their art into (A Source of Income), which in turn supports the private sector, also changing some policies that in turn can improve the role of the private sector).


He pointed out that the “Station” was able, within a short period of time, to write a paper to change the registration policies of medium and emerging companies to be supportive and motivating for young people.


In addition to supporting the private sector, he added, the “Station” also provides training and support to civil society organizations believing that they represent the voice of the people, and enable them to manage projects that are useful to society.
