After the lunch break, Abdul Rahman, a programmer from Tawasul Organization for Youth Empowerment, get on the stage to present the "Environmental Monitor System “, as part of the activities of the second day of the Fourth Point Conference Iraq, held on July 23, 2022, in the "Station" building hall.

Abdul Rahman stated that the system is dedicated to monitoring all kinds of the environmental pollution problems and treat them, because the system allows citizens to report any damage related to the environment such as: throwing garbage at areas which are not designated for garbage and the street damage that cause accidents...etc., and thus the system will provide access to the reporting to specialists in the field of environment to take the necessary action as soon as possible.

This system is reinforced with a map through which the citizen can upload a picture or a video of the location of the damage or environmental pollution on it, and these damages are classified on the map in several colors according to the severity and quality of the damage.

Abdul Rahman explained that the publisher’s information is optional, so the citizen can participate in the system as a visitor, and therefore his data is not shared with the system and no one can access his data, or vice versa, the publisher can also share his data with the system by registering with it.

And he indicated that the participants in the environmental monitoring system were classified into (editor, observer, environmental expert, and government representative), for the editor is anyone who raises problems, whether an environmental expert, a journalist or a citizen, while the monitor is a group of volunteers who verify the raised problem. And reinforce it with a picture or a video, if present, so that all the information is real in the system.

The environmental expert is the one who decides if this problem can be solved or not or does it need to be shared or neglected, so the system has a filter that does not allow sharing anything away from environmental problems, but the government official can respond to problems that are shared on the system and is also responsible for tracking its solution.

At the end of his presentation, Abdul Rahman added that the system has several advantages, through which it is possible to organize advocacy campaigns and collect signatures, also provides reports and collects data through the problems that have been raised.
